H6 in. x W12 in. This exquisite miniature has tiny, drooping branches on a low, broad shrub. Ochre and red shading give it added interest in winter. Hardy to Zone 6.

Many dwarf and intermediate cultivars have been selected from this enormous tree from Japan and China.  Softly bristled foliage gives a pleasing effect in a moist rockery or shrub border.  Rich, moist soil in partial shade is preferred; full sun is acceptable in mild coastal areas.
