Harebell; Bellflower

Detailed Description
H6 in. x W30 in. One of the most desirable rock-garden harebells; a compact cushion of foliage with substantial blue bells, enormous for the size of the plant, well-displayed from spring to early summer. A sunny scree or a moist crevice suit it well. Hardy to Zone 4.
These justly popular rockery plants have differing needs, but are always rewarding. Most spread readily with underground runners or creeping stems; others are saxatile alpines, best grown in deep grit with a gravel collar. In general, they prefer gritty, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade.
