Detailed Description
120 ft. x 30 ft. Incense Cedar is a stout, strong tree with broad sprays of green branches. It often mingles with the great redwood, but spreads much further north and inland, often in rather arid sites with madrone and ponderosa pine. It prefers rich, well-draining soil that dries somewhat in summer, and is very heat and drought tolerant once established. The tree's resinous foliage is especially valuable for holiday wreath-making, and the fragrant wood is the most sought-after for pencil manufacture. Hardy to Zone 5.
