Jack-in-the-Pulpit
Price: $20.00

Detailed Description

H36 in. x W36 in.  The imposing size of this Himalayan jack-in-the-pulpit's trifoliate leaves are some of the largest in the genus, reaching over two feet across.   A robust plant in rich, summer-moist woodland soil, the flattish tubers increase in size to form a notable clump of plants, each bearing two sets of leaves  The flower appears in early summer with a distinctively patterned spathe, striped mahogany and white, the whip-like appendage of the spadix curling up and outward, the better part of its length dangling in the air.  The imposing foliage dies down completely for winter, and new growth often arises from the tuber quite late in spring.  Hardy to Zone 6.  Limited Supply.
